A Brentford XI will play Hampton and Richmond Borough in a pre-season friendly. The game will be played at The Beveree on Sunday 18 July. It will kick-off at 3pm. More information on access to the game will follow.
Brentford's squad for the match is likely to mostly consist of Brentford B players. It is also currently planned that the B Team coaching staff will take charge of the game. This is the third game announced for a Brentford XI in the pre-season. They will play Sutton United at Farnborough FC on 13 July and Southend United away from home on 4 August. More information on this match and other pre-season games for the First Team and B Team will follow.
Hampton will be hoping their 2021/22 campaign is less disrupted than the past two. The Beavers were eighth in the National League South in March 2020 when football was halted due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The season was curtailed and they missed out on the Play-Offs on a points per game basis when they had games in hand on those above them.
The 2020/21 season was even more frustrating. Hampton were sixth in the table, with games in hand on the teams at the top, when the season was halted with Covid-19 still affecting the country. The season was subsequently expunged.
