Brentford B will begin their league campaign on Tuesday 20 August, as they kick off their Under-21 Professional Development League campaign.

The Professional Development League 2 is under-21 football's second tier, designed for those academies with Category 2 status.

It will be the first time the young Bees have competed in a league format since the formation of the side in 2016.

The league is split regionally into north and south divisions, with each team facing opponents in their own region twice both home and away and opponents in the other region once, resulting in 31 games played. The sides finishing in the top two positions in both regions at the end of the season will progress to a knockout stage to determine the overall league champion.

Defending champions Sheffield United are first up for Neil MacFarlane's side at Bramall Lane, before they return to Wheatsheaf Park to face Coventry City on Monday 26 August.

The B team's season will finish with a trip to face Crewe Alexandra on Monday 28 April, before a home clash against Barnsley on Monday 5 May.

League games will be played alongside Premier League Cup fixtures throughout the season. Fixture information on that competition will be announced in due course.
