Brentford B have completed the signing of free agent Maxwell McKnight on a one-year deal; the club has an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
McKnight signs after a trial period, during which he has displayed his defending capabilities and ability to play in multiple positions.
The 20-year-old defender has been a regular for Brentford Under-21s throughout pre-season and into the 2025/26 Professional Development League campaign.
During his trial period, McKnight has shown composure and consistency, stepping up as a reliable member of the squad.
The young defender was previously at Tottenham Hotspur, from their under-12s through to the under-21s.
He provided an assist in the 2-1 pre-season defeat to AFC Wimbledon, delivering a precise cross that Michel Boni steered home.
Brentford B head coach Sam Saunders said: "We’re really excited to have Maxwell on board. From the first couple of days we saw him, it was clear he could add real quality to the group.
"He adds competition to the team and has a versatility that will make him a valuable member of the squad. He is able to play at left-back, right-back, and also in midfield.
"We’re looking forward to helping him develop throughout the season as we continue to get better and improve as a team."
