Brentford B have signed Danish defender Luka Racic from FC Copenhagen on a two-year deal with the option for a further year.

The 19-year-old completed his medical in West London today, Thursday 5 July, and put pen to paper on his contract at Jersey Road. He then stayed to watch the B Team's 4-2 defeat to Maidenhead United as his new teammates played their first game of pre-season.

A tall Denmark youth international who is deployed at centre-back, Luka has played with Mads Bech Sorensen and Lukas Talbro before on the global stage. He was part of the squad that narrowly missed out on qualification for this summer's UEFA U19 Championship in Finland.

B Team Head Coach Kevin O'Connor said: "Luka impressed us with his ability and hard work. He has also played with other members of the B Team squad at an international level, which allowed us to know more about him straight away. He has been on our radar for a while now so we are delighted to have him sign for us.

"He is a strong defender who can bring stability to the back line and will hopefully progress with us while competing for a starting place in the team each week."
