Brentford Football Club have signed a ninth young player to begin a two-year scholarship with the Youth Team.

Goalkeeper Joe Taylor, 16, has joined the Club at the start of the 2012/13 season.

He will join Richard Bryan, Lewis Lavender, Montell Moore, Michael Onovwigun, George Pilbeam, Fabian Rowe, Josh Stockwell and Lionel Stone as part of Brentford's Youth set-up for two seasons and in the summer of 2014 will have the chance to turn professional.

Joe, who was previously on trial at AFC Wimbledon, has been called-up to train with New Zealand's Under-17 squad this autumn.

Ose Aibangee, Brentford's Director of Youth Development, said: "Joe has all the attributes required to be a good goalkeeper.

"He is of a good stature and the fact he has already been spotted by New Zealand shows he has talent.

"He has a good attitude and we are looking forward to working with him and seeing how he will develop over the next two years."
