Brentford have signed England Under-21 international defender Liam Moore on loan from Leicester City.

The 20-year-old completed the move today and will link up with Uwe Rösler’s squad for training on Thursday.

His Youth Loan will run until April 27.

Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Sporting Director, said: “Liam is a player I have tracked and monitored for the last two to three years.

“He has come through the same youth system that produced Jeffrey Schlupp, who I am sure Brentford fans will remember.

“Liam has had an excellent academy education and he has developed in to a fine young defensive player.

“He is comfortable both in central defence and at right back and also, crucially, in defensive midfield.

“He has already achieved a lot this season, playing in The Championship with Leicester, and other clubs were looking at him.

“We are delighted he chose Brentford.”

Liam came through the youth ranks at Leicester and was part of the City team that reached the FA Youth Cup Quarter Final in 2011.

The 20-year-old, who has also played for England at Under-17 level, spent four months on loan at Bradford City in 2011.

He made his Leicester debut early in 2012 and has made 14 appearances for The Foxes this season.

Liam made his debut for England Under-21s in a game against Northern Ireland in November.
