Brentford’s run in the Carabao Cup came to an end at the Third Round stage at The Emirates Stadium as Arsenal progressed to the last 16. A spectacular free kick from Alan Judge had given Brentford hope of overturning a 2-0 half time deficit but there was no way back for The Bees. Those two Danny Welbeck goals gave Arsenal a winning lead and Alexandre Lacazette added a third late on to give the home side a 3-1 victory.
