Alan Judge said he could not choose between the two goals he scored in Brentford’s 3-1 win against Crewe Alexandra.
The attacking midfield player lashed in Brentford’s first ten minutes in, firing home from 20 yards after a fine team move.
His second came early in the second half, a 25-yard shot dipping and swerving that flew home.
“I was happy with both goals,” said Alan, speaking to Bees Player after the match.
“The first I liked as I don’t think I can get it further in to the corner.
“The second one moved everywhere.
“As you have seen, I will shoot from wherever I can.
“There was great play for the first one, it came to Alan McCormack and his cross dropped to me.
“I was thinking of taking a touch and putting it back in but I thought I’d have a go.
“Luckily it went in.”
Alan said Brentford produced a “great away performance” in the win at Crewe.
The Bees dominated the first period and Alan admitted there was disappointment it was only 1-0 at the break, particularly as he felt he should have scored just before the break.
Alan said the message at half time was to go out and add to the lead and The Bees did that.
After Alan’s goal Adam Forshaw scored a third just after the hour mark to seal the win.
The attacking midfield player admitted there was a feeling that 3-1 did not represent Brentford’s true performance.
“The first goal came at a good time,” he said.
“Some of the football we played today was great.
“It was a great away performance.
“We were disappointed it was only 1-0 at half time.
“I was disappointed I didn’t score a second at the end of the first half.
“They would have thought they were still in the game.
“We went out in the second half to score more goals, that was the message.
“Even at full time we felt we should have had four or five.”
Crewe pulled a goal back from a penalty Alan felt shouldn’t have been awarded.
Referee Tim Robinson decided an offence of handball had been committed when Harlee Dean headed away a free kick and the ball rolled down the arm of Clayton Donaldson.
Alan said: “It was the perfect away performance.
“We were brilliant.
“We had a dodgy penalty against us in my opinion.
“The referee said Harlee handballed it, he headed it.
“We couldn’t understand why it was given.”
The game was Brentford’s first for two weeks.
They had seen two games postponed in the past seven days – at home to Crawley Town and away against Sheffield United – and Alan admitted the players had wanted to keep their run, now stretched to 19 Sky Bet League One matches unbeaten, going.
Alan praised the staff for their work over the past two weeks and said the rest may have helped.
“There has been frustration in the past couple of weeks,” he said.
“When you are on a good run you want to play.
“But it did give the lads a chance to recharge the batteries.
“They are now ready to kick on for the rest of the season.
“I hadn’t played much this season so I was fine but the rest did me good.
“The staff have helped us, training has been great.
“Our training is like playing, there was no fitness lost.
“There is always concern there could be rustiness but we showed in the first five minutes there wasn’t.”
Brentford remain top of League One, two points ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are second.
The Bees host Wolves at Griffin Park next Saturday.
“I have no idea what the other results were today,” said Alan.
“I am just concentrating on playing.
“The others are as well.
“We will worry about ourselves, others outside can say what they want.
“Wolves are a big club; they were in the Premier League two years ago.
“It is a big club to play at Brentford.
“Everyone is looking forward to it.”
