Harlee Dean said a 0-0 draw for Brentford against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium was a good result.
Wolves started the day top of Sky Bet League One but Brentford matched them and could have won the game.
Harlee said Brentford played well and he hailed their fifth consecutive clean sheet in a run of seven games without defeat.
“It was a good point,” said the defender, speaking to Bees Player after the match.
“This was a game you looked at when the fixtures came out.
“A point here is a good result.
“I think it is good for both teams in the end.
“The performance was very good.
“We had chances on the counter-attack and didn’t concede a goal again.
“Everyone was confident.
“It was a good performance.”
Harlee was up against international strikers Kevin Doyle and Leigh Griffiths and although both had chances, neither scored.
Harlee said it was a different test but he and Tony Craig did a good job at the heart of the Brentford defence.
He added he considered Brentford’s players equal to those of Wolves.
“Kevin Doyle and Leigh Griffiths are good players but me and Tony have done a good job and we have kept another clean sheet,” said Harlee.
“I have never played against players like that before.
“We didn’t really know what they were going to do.
“Sometimes they’d shoot; sometimes they’d take you on.
“They would spin in to one channel and then go the other side.
“They were good but we kept a clean sheet.
“It is good to test yourself but we are as good as them and are where we are on merit.
“They’re League One players, I’m a League One player, I am looking to go further.”
Harlee said Brentford were happy with a point but could have won it late on.
Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme made fine saves from Toumani Diagouraga and, particularly, Alan McCormack.
Will Grigg also shot narrowly wide.
“We are always a team that looks to get a goal in the last minute,” said Harlee.
“We had good chances and the keeper has made great saves.
“We have got to be happy with a point.
“We haven’t conceded goals and are scoring them.
“We are happy with a point.
“Defensively we are working hard.
“We press high and are doing well.”
Brentford’s next match is against Peterborough United, currently third in League One, on Tuesday.
Harlee said Brentford had a great chance to win that game and he wasn’t bothered that it came so soon after the game against Wolves.
“We have to play every team, it doesn’t matter when we play them,” said the defender.
“We came here and got a draw and now we play Peterborough.
“We have a great chance to win that game.
“We have to play our game.”
