Ahead of the season we invited our fans to tell us what they thought about their experiences at Griffin Park in the 2014/15 Matchday Experience Survey. Fans were invited to provide feedback on a range of different aspects they experience during a matchday and suggest improvements that they would like to see. Topics covered include Ticketing, Communications, Stewarding, Catering and Merchandising.
More than 1,800 fans took part in the survey from all across the Brentford family with Season Ticket Holders, Club Members and Match Ticket Purchasers from all sides of the ground sending us their feedback. As well as rating the services provided at Griffin Park, fans were invited to give their thoughts and recommendations on ways to improve the matchday experience.
Of the fans who responded to the Matchday survey, more than 95 per cent said that they had a good or very good matchday experience. A similarly high proportion of first-time visitors to Griffin Park were either satisfied or very satisfied with their visit. One area where fans told us there could be improvement were the facilities at Griffin Park, in particular the toilet facilities. Over the summer we have done work to improve the facilities around Griffin Park with the additional of temporary toilet facilities around the ground and the introduction of Baby Change Facilities in the New Road Stand.
Griffin Park’s matchday entertainment was given a rating of 6 out of 10 with support for sponsors promotions, former player interviews, half-time performances by local artists, and Community Sports’ Trust half-time penalty shoot-outs. A number of fans indicated that they would be in favour of themed matchday’s surrounding holidays or big events. To help improve the acoustics at Griffin Park work has been carried out on the Sound System over the summer and fans around the ground will be able to notice the improvements made from this Saturday’s match against Reading.
The Club’s website content around the match was rated at 3.8 out of 5 with the quality of matchday coverage on Social Media rated as 4 out of 5. A number of fans surveyed positively noted the pre-season change to increased match commentary on Twitter. Further additions to the club’s Social Media and Matchday content are planned to be rolled out as the season progresses.
This summer has seen a total re-fit of the Stadium Shop in Braemar Road as new lines of adidas Training Wear and Replica Kit hit the shelves. The fans surveyed rated the quality of products on offer as 4 out of 5, the range as 3.7 out of 5 and the cost was rated at 3.3 out of 5. We have also introduced a click and collect service which enables fans to buy online and then collect in store as soon as their purchases are ready.
