With Brentford’s first team returning to Premier League action against Southampton on Saturday and Brentford B kicking off their Atlantic Cup campaign on Thursday, there’s plenty to look out for this week.

Monday 30 January

Brentford B v Middlesbrough under-21s (Premier League Cup)

Brentford B will face Middlesbrough under-21s in the round of 16 in the Premier League Cup at the Lamex Stadium. Kick-off will be at 2pm.

The young Bees have produced some brilliant displays in this tournament so far this season having finished top of their group.

They’ll come up against a Middlesbrough side who are unbeaten since December, and they finished second in Group C.

Brentford B v Ulsan Hyundai (Atlantic Cup)

Brentford B will kick off their Atlantic Cup campaign at 7pm on Thursday.

The Atlantic Cup is a mid-season tournament which takes place every year in Portugal.

It consists of teams from across the world who use the games to maintain competitive matches when their league campaigns are not running.

The young Bees face South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai (7pm kick-off). There will be live coverage on the club’s social media channels, and post-match content on brentfordfc.com and the Brentford App.

Premier League award winners announced

Last week, Thomas Frank and David Raya were shortlisted for Barclays Manager of the Month and EA Sports Player of the Month respectively.

Frank is on the Barclays Manager of the Month shortlist alongside Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Steve Cooper (Nottingham Forest), Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton and Hove Albion) and Unai Emery (Aston Villa).

Raya is the only goalkeeper on a seven-player shortlist. Included alongside the Spanish stopper are Dan Burn (Newcastle United), Brennan Johnson (Nottingham Forest), Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City), Solly March (Brighton and Hove Albion), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).

The winners of the awards will be revealed by the Premier League on Friday morning.

Brentford v Southampton (Premier League)

Brentford welcome Southampton to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.

Sunday 5 February

Brentford Women first team v Watford Ladies Development (LSE Regional WFL Division One North)

Brentford Women’s first team continue their quest for promotion as they come up against Watford Ladies Development at Bovingdon Football Club in a 2pm kick-off.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 4-2 victory for the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium.
