Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has said that defender Kristoffer Ajer will be available for Sunday's game against West Ham.

Ajer was on the bench against Liverpool last weekend and has played twice for the B team since his recovery from a calf problem, which included 90 minutes in their Premier League Cup win against Blackburn Under-21s on Tuesday.

Frank said that everyone who played in the 1-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday is available for the test against the Hammers, including Ajer, who is likely to be in the Bees squad for the game at the Gtech Community Stadium.

When asked if Ajer is likely to feature between now and the end of the season, he stated: “Hopefully! It's up to him to keep doing well in training. He's definitely available now.

“He was on the bench against Liverpool and he'll be available for selection for Sunday - I’m pretty sure he’ll be in the squad.”

West Ham head to west London this weekend after a 2-1 win over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League semi-final first leg on Thursday night.

Their clash with the Bees is sandwiched between the two legs of that semi-final, and Frank said it would be a 'fantastic achievement' if David Moyes' team could go all the way and win their first major trophy since 1980.

He stated: "West Ham are a good team, they’ve got a good squad. Whoever they put out there, they’ll be a difficult opponent.

"I know they have struggled a litte bit [in the league] but, on the flip side, they’re in the semi-final of the Europa Conference League, they might lift their first trophy... I’m not a West Ham expert, but their first trophy in many years. That would be a fantastic achievement.

“David Moyes and his staff have turned things around over the last few years. They were sixth and then seventh [in the Premier League], and then last year they got to the semi-final of the Europa League.

“Now they’re in the semi-final of the Conference League and hopefully going to the final. That's fantastic."

When asked about the Hammers' biggest threat, he added: “I think they are very solid defensively and they’re very good on the counter attack.

“They also have some very good offensive players: [Jarrod] Bowen and [Said] Benrahma, as well as [Michail] Antonio or [Danny] Ings, if he plays.

“The fact that they have a player like Ings on the bench tells you everything about their squad.

“[Lucas] Paqueta is growing more and more. They have a really, really good squad.”
