Head coach Keith Andrews has provided a team news update ahead of Brentford’s meeting with Newcastle United on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off GMT, live on Sky Sports).
The Bees travel to St James’ Park following a 1-0 win over Aston Villa, while Eddie Howe’s side lost 4-1 to Liverpool in their last Premier League game.
Forward Kevin Schade misses out though suspension having been shown a straight red card at Villa Park.
Josh Dasilva (knee ligament) remains sidelined, while Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo will both miss the rest of the campaign due to ACL injuries.
“We’re disappointed not to have Kevin,” Andrews began. “We’ll miss him for the next two league games and the cup game against Macclesfield.
“Everyone else has come through a difficult game, for obvious reasons, having gone down to 10 men so early. It’s testament to the place we’re in - physically as a team. We’re pretty much as we were.
“Two that will come back into the equation will be Kaye [Furo] and Reiss Nelson. Reiss had picked up a little knock, very minor, which is why he wasn’t available for that game [against Aston Villa].”
Nathan Collins began last weekend’s clash with Aston Villa on the bench. Andrews revealed the Bees’ captain took a knock in training before the west Londoners’ trip to Villa Park.
“He needed some stitches,” said Andrews. “It was right at the end of a training session - it was really unfortunate.
“Seeing how he was the day before the game, I ultimately made the decision not to start him.
“He wasn’t fully right but he came into a battle and that shows the character that he has. That’s why he’s my captain. He’s an amazing individual who leads by example on a daily basis.”
Newcastle have been formidable at home this season: only a handful of teams have picked up more points on their own patch than the Magpies’ 23.
Andrews acknowledged that his side face a tough test at St James’ Park.
“It’s a special place to play football,” said the Bees boss. “The fans get behind their team. It’s a cauldron and it can rattle teams coming to town.
“Our players will have to deal with that emotion and the momentum swings in the game and show a level of calmness, composure and growth to deal with whatever is thrown at us.”
