Head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that defender Kristoffer Ajer will be available for Brentford's visit to Liverpool on Saturday.

Ajer's last appearance came at Arsenal in early February and he has failed to make a first-team squad since March due to a calf problem.

However, the Norwegian played 70 minutes for the B team in their 2-1 Premier League Cup victory last Thursday and could feature at Anfield this weekend.

"Everyone from our game against Nottingham Forest will be available again," Frank confirmed.

"Pontus [Jansson] is out, [Thomas] Strakosha is out and [Christian] Norgaard will be out. But Kristoffer Ajer will be available for selection.”

On Norgaard, he went on to say: “I think it will be difficult for him to play again this season, but we don't exactly know because of the Achilles issues.”

Frank also confirmed that Keane Lewis-Potter will not feature again this campaign.

One player that will be available for Saturday's opponents Liverpool this weekend is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has been playing in a slightly different role in recent weeks.

The right-back has been playing in more central areas when the Reds are in possession, which has led to the 24-year-old recording six assists in the last six games.

When questioned about Alexander-Arnold's recent form, Frank said: "He's a very, very good footballer, and I understand why Jurgen is constantly positive about trying to use him in the best way.

“His passing range and ability is probably among the best in the world. He’s made a lot of assists - he must be close to being one of the top assist-makers in the Premier League ever.

“I personally think that he could be a midfielder in the future. I know he’s used now as a midfielder when they're in possession, and I know the game has developed so there are positions in possession and out of possession.

“But, in the midfield, I think he adds something to Liverpool of high, high value.

“Of course, I don't think it's any secret, it’s very important that we close him down. If we can close him down and avoid him making an assist, then we are one step closer to a good result.”
