About Bristol Rovers

Rovers have already had a taste of early season action having faced Melksham Town on 30 June where they claimed a 9-0 win. They also faced National League side Eastleigh as they claimed a 2-0 win last Saturday at the Silverlake stadium. A double header pre-season outing to Cardiff City earlier this week also saw them gain important minutes ahead of their season in English footballโ€™s third tier. Former B team defender Lewis Gordon is currently part of Joey Bartonโ€™s side, but heโ€™s currently been sidelined through injury.

The 2022/23 season saw Rovers finish 17th in the league table as they picked up 53 points from their 46 matches. This summer has seen the club active in the transfer market having added the likes of Jevani Brown, George Friend and Luke Thomas to their ranks as they aim for a successful 2023/24 campaign.

Two games in two days

Of course, a young Brentford side are also in action on Friday evening against Slough Town away from home. That match is expected to see a mixture of B team and Under-18 players as Neil MacFarlane and his staff look to get as many players pre-season minutes as possible. Of course, some of the B team were involved with the first team earlier this week in the 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood and those players could well look to get more minutes on Saturday.
