Diversity and Discrimination Event

Brentford Football Club invite you to attend an evening of discussion about Diversity and Discrimination in Football on Thursday, April 4th at the Novotel Brentford, between 6.45pm and 9.30pm.

The evening will be hosted by Troy Townsend of Kick It Out. He will lead a great panel of notable guests: Liam Rosenior former player and Sky Sports pundit; Anwar Uddin of the Football Supporters’ Federation; Marcus Gayle, former player and Kick it Out educator; Chris Paouros, Co-founder of Proud Lilywhites and Pride in Football; Salma Mahamud, Brentford Development team; and our very own Thomas Frank.

The evening will focus on two key objectives:

  1. Promoting conversation about the progress that football has made in tackling racism and discrimination both on and off the pitch.
  2. How we work together with our fans and community, as we move to our new stadium, to pursue the objective of making our club welcoming for all.

Troy will ask several questions to our panel about their views on what has been achieved, what still needs to be done, and how we can take this on board for future inclusion.

There will be a number of opportunities to pose questions directly to Troy and the panel.

We look forward to welcoming you to this very important and hopefully lively and engaging debate.

Arrival and networking with refreshments.

Panel discussion (with Q&A) on how far we feel football has come in tackling racism and discrimination both on and off the pitch and where we still need to improve.
