Growing up, Wissa supported Epinay-sous-senart. His favourite players, past and present, include Thierry Henry, Etoo, Benzema, and Bryan Mbeumo. If he was not a professional footballer, his dream job would be playing rugby. Outside of football, he enjoys watching tv and different series, including American Gangster. His favourite food is African food. He also enjoys listening to rap!

Wissa started his career as a goalkeeper with his local youth club, Epinay-sous-senart, beofre moving to midfield and then the forward line. He began his senior career with Chateauroux, and progressed through the first team to break into the first team during the 2015-16 Championnat National season. He finished the season with 24 appearances and seven goals.

In January 2018, Wissa transferred to Ligue 2 club Lorient. The club achieved promotion to Ligue 1 at the end of the 19/20 season.

Wissa joined Brentford in August 2021, on a four year contract. He scored five goals in his first six appearances for the club. He won goal of the tournament in the EFL cup for his bicycle kick against Oldham Athletic. Wissa ended the 21/22 season with 34 appearances and 10 goals.

He has also represented his country, Congo DR, and he has scored two international goals.
