Roy Syla named in Albania Under-21 Squad

Young midfielder will join up with national team in June

31 May 2022

Brentford B’s departing midfielder Roy Syla has once again been named in the Albania Under-21 squad ahead of two European Qualifiers in June.

It was announced recently that Roy will depart The Bees upon the end of his contract in the summer, however his performances for Neil MacFarlane’s side over the course of the 2021/22 season has earned him his second call-up to the Albania Under-21 squad.

Though the Albanians are unable to reach the Finals in 2023, they will be aiming to finish off their Qualifying campaign strongly as the first travel to England before they then welcome Kosovo. Albania are fourth in Group G with nine points from eight games. Ahead of them are Slovenia on 10 points whilst Czech Republic sit top on 19 points and England are second on 16 points.

Albania’s match against England will take place on Tuesday 7 June at Chesterfield’s Technique Stadium in a 7:45pm kick-off before they round off their campaign against Kosovo on Monday 13 June at the Elbasan Arena.
