There are still two games of Brentford's 2021/22 Premier League season but their fate has already been confirmed. Results earlier this week meant Brentford could not be relegated. The Bees will be in the Premier League in 2022/23 and most of their opponents are already known.

Next season will be Brentford's second in the Premier League. It will be their seventh in the top flight in their 133-year history. The Bees already know 15 of the teams they will be facing next year with everyone from first to 14th in the top flight confirmed for 2022/23.

Two of the teams coming up from the Sky Bet Championship have also been confirmed. Fulham and AFC Bournemouth sealed automatic promotion at the end of the second tier season. The third place will be confirmed at the end of the Championship Play-Offs.

The four remaining places in the Premier League will be confirmed in the next 15 days. Three of them will be current Premier League sides that earn enough points to finish outside the relegation zone. The winner of the Championship Play-Offs will be the last team.

The Play-Offs start this evening when Luton Town face Huddersfield Town in one of the Semi-Finals. The other will feature Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United. The first leg of that tie will be played tomorrow with the deciding matches in both ties played next week. The Play-Off Final is on Sunday 29 May.

There are four teams in danger of being relegated from the Premier League. Leeds United are currently in the bottom three. They can still catch and overtake Burnley, Everton and Southampton.

The latter are almost mathematically safe. They are six points ahead of Leeds, who have two games left to play, and a far superior goal difference. Burnley are level on points with Leeds and Everton are two points ahead. The final relegation place, and Brentford's opponents, will be confirmed in the next nine days.
