Its was a successful weekend for Lachlan Brook and Adelaide United as they booked an A League Semi-Final clash with Melbourne City having beaten Central Coast Mariners 3-1 at Coopers Stadium on Sunday.
The goals came from Craig Goodwin on 26 minutes before Kusini Yengi made it 2-0 on 67 minutes. Central Coast hit back with one goal through Storm Roux but Bernardo Oliveira then confirmed the win in stoppage time for Adelaide in a game where Lachlan started and played 68 minutes. Adelaide will now face City at Coopers Stadium on Wednesday night before the second leg in Melbourne on Sunday.
Staying with our B Team players, there was a debut for Hans Mpongo who got 60 minutes of game time in a 2-0 away defeat to Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar for Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja in Iceland. The opponents netted in each half with Matthías Vilhjálmsson scoring just before the half hour mark before Davíð Snær Jóhannsson made it 2-0 with 26 to play. The defeat leaves the side 10th in the table with two points and they take on Íþróttabandalag Akraness on Saturday.
In terms of action in England, Bromley rounded off their league campaign with a 4-2 win away at Barnet. Ellery Balcombe got another 90 minutes for the side who will now focus on their FA Trophy Final with Wrexham on Sunday. Barnet actually went ahead on 10 minutes through Daniel Powell before Mason Bloomfield levelled for Bromley just a couple of minutes later and they went on to make it 3-1 with two goals in quick succession after the break. It became 3-2 when Ben Richard-Everton found the net on 72 minutes before Michael Cheek put an end to any hope of a comeback when he scored on 80 minutes.
In the Sky Bet Championship, Charlie Goode wasn’t involved for Sheffield United as they are narrowly behind in the Play-Off Semi-Finals having lost the first leg 2-1 to Nottingham Forest. They did net late through Sander Berge going into Tuesday’s second leg as it’s set for an exciting encounter.

Staying in the same country, Luka Racic’s HB Køge lost 1-0 away at Fremad Amager on Friday. Michael Lumb netted on 47 minutes to score the game’s only goal in a match where Luka played 83 minutes. As for Galatasaray and Halil Dervişoğlu, they face Adana Demirspor this evening.
