Brentford Women's B Team returned to Barnes to face their County Cup conquerors South London Laces a week later in the Greater London Womens Football League Anniversary Trophy. This time they gained revenge as they won 3-1.
The familiarity of the opposition was far from intimidating as The Bees raced into the game, unafraid of their opponents and clearly aware of the mistakes made in the previous encounter. Within minutes Eshe Davies scored and The Bees were determined to ensure their dominance over SLL as they broke through the opposition's defence and scored again. Davies was the woman on target again. The two goals were maintained and carried over into the second half, which was played at a steady pace with The Bees making excellent connections in play. Eshe and Chyenne made consistent passes up front, posing a serious threat to the position and forcing SLL to play wide.Kasey's great vision resulted in her feeding a quick cross upforwad, which Eshe confidently finished into the lower left corner - bagging herself a hat-trick. Brentford were clearly the dominant team in the game and they had the opposition on the ropes.Despite being in the lead, The Bees continued to push forward, attempting to score at every opportunity. A great cross fed the ball to Charlotte, who did a little dance with the opposing defender before sending a shot on goal. Though it did not find the net, the dance was undoubtedly a highlight of the game's entertainment.SLL won the ball from The Bees and with quick movements they scored, bringing the game to 3-1. However, it was insufficient because The Bees dominated all subsequent play until the final whistle, securing the victory. Will Blithing, Brentford Womens B Team Head Coach, was very pleased with the team's performance. He said: "Given that we were down to 11 players so early, we had to be very professional and disciplined. The first half was extremely well-organized, and we were able to create numerous chances throughout the game."
