Toney a target for FPL managers

Striker earmarked by Fantasy Premier League bosses

14 March 2022

Ivan Toney's recent form is making him a top target for Fantasy Premier League managers. Ivan scored both goals as Brentford beat Burnley 2-0 on Saturday. It made it five goals in seven days as he grabbed a hat-trick in Brentford's win at Norwich City last week.

Ivan has been prolific in recent weeks. In his last four Premier League starts he has scored seven goals, notching against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United. It is eight in his last five starts in all competitions, including a goal at Everton in the Emirates FA Cup.

Fantasy Premier League bosses have been adding Ivan to their teams ahead of Brentford's next match, away at Leicester City next Sunday, 20 March. The Scout, who writes about FPL for the Premier League has noticed Ivan is a top target for next week. He has 29 points in his last two matches.

"The improving form of Ivan Toney (£6.6m) has made him a key target for the reduced Gameweek 30 in Fantasy Premier League," wrote The Scout, in a piece that can be seen here. "Toney has now produced two of his three highest hauls this season in his last two appearances. He scored a hat-trick and picked up 17 points against Norwich City in Gameweek 28.

"Seven of his 11 goals this season have come in his last four starts. Brentford’s visit to Leicester City in Gameweek 30 is one of just four matches scheduled to take place in that round of fixtures. As a result, Toney has earned 43,000 transfers in ahead of Friday’s 18:30 GMT deadline, more than any other player."
