Both players have been involved with Ireland in previous years at youth level but this is the first time that they will link up with the Under-20 side, who will meet for a friendly fixture which takes place on Tuesday 22 March in Dublin.

The opponents will be Ireland Amateurs as the coaching staff take the opportunity to take a look at a new crop of players who will be looking to put themselves into contention for game time with the Under-21 squad in the coming months.

Deji is one of the B Team newcomers having agreed a deal to join on loan until the end of the season from OGC Nice. The young winger came through the ranks at Manchester United before switching to the north west of England for southern France in September 2020.

Nico arrived at Brentford in the summer of 2021 having departed Sky Bet League One side Oxford United. The central defender has seen a steady development during his time with the young Bees this season, leading to a string of impressive displays in recent weeks as part of a back three for Neil MacFarlane’s group. So far this season, Nico has featured 24 times for the young Bees as the side have regularly tested themselves against first team opponents and toured in the likes of Cyprus and Portugal.
