Saturday morning gave the opportunity for Brentford B to get valuable minutes into some of the squad as they welcomed American side Wake Forest University to Jersey Road.
The opponents have been on a 10-day tour in England and rounded off their stay with a friendly match in West London as Neil MacFarlane shuffled his side from their Middlesex Senior Cup Semi-Final win over Hampton & Richmond Borough earlier this week.
The match afforded the chance for the staff to take a look at some Trialists as well as give minutes to players who have not been involved too frequently of late. Roco Rees, Wraynel Hercules and Deji Sotona all earned good minutes during the game whilst Hans Mpongo lead the line for the side from the start. Roy Syla also started the match in midfield with Val Adedokun deployed at left back.
The American side came out on top as they scored four without reply in a match which saw them make regular changes as their large squad had the opportunity to get game time every 20-30 minutes.
The score line wasn’t quite reflective of the entire match as the Americans were clinical in front of goal, whilst The Bees created some positive moments with the likes of Paris Maghoma going very close to getting on the scoresheet in the second half, whilst birthday boy and substitute Ryan Trevitt also hit an effort against the cross bar.
