Dom Thompson helped Ipswich Town to their second successive 2-0 win as they beat Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday evening.
Both goals came in the first half courtesy of Wes Burns and Kayden Jackson as they are now unbeaten in eight games. Dom grabbed another 90 minutes and he has now played nine times for the side since arriving in January. They are ninth in the table and take on Portsmouth at home on Saturday.
On Thursday, Halil Dervişoğlu was an unused substitute as Galatasaray drew 0-0 away at Barcelona in the UEFA Europa League. The result gives the side a good chance of progressing from the Round of 16 in the competition. Now they will focus on a huge game on Monday as they host Beşiktaş before the return leg against the Catalan side next Thursday.
Charlie Goode’s Sheffield United were also in action as they beat Middlesbrough 4-1. Sander Berge gave the side the lead before Billy Sharp scored another two minutes later, whilst Jack Robinson and Morgan Gibbs-White both added second half goals. Charlie wasn’t involved on the day for the side.
AFC Wimbledon were also in midweek action as they lost 2-0 away from home at Plymouth Argyle. Aaron Pressley wasn’t involved on the night for the side, who go into their match at home to Lincoln City on Saturday in 20th place.
There is lots more game time to come this weekend as Marcus Forss could feature for Hull City as thy head to Birmingham City in the Sky Bet Championship. Ellery Balcombe could also be in contention for more minutes after making his first league appearance for Bromley last time out as they now focus on an FA Trophy Quarter-Final on Saturday against Solihull Moors.
On foreign shores, Lachlan Brook’s Adelaide United face Newcastle Jets on Sunday, whilst in Denmark Mads Bidstrup’s FC Nordsjælland will face SønderjyskE this evening in the top tier of Danish football. In the division below, Luka Racic will be targeting another 90 minutes as HB Køge face Fremad Amager on Sunday as they look to return to winning ways.
