Only one of Brentford's players out on loan was in action this week. With international football meaning few matches were organised, there was action in only a few places. One was Yeovil Town, where Ellery Balcombe was playing for Bromley in a Vanarama National League match on Tuesday, 22 March.
The game at Huish Park ended 2-1 to Yeovil, extending Bromley's winless league run. Yeovil scored the first goal of the game and even though George Alexander equalised, it was not enough for Bromley. Despite a series of fine saves by Ellery, Yeovil grabbed the winner just past the hour mark.
Bromley have now not won in the league since the end of January. A seven game run of three draws and four defeats leaves them tenth in the table. They are still only five points behind Boreham Wood, who are seventh and occupy the final Play-Off place. Bromley's recent success in the FA Trophy has seen them reach the Semi-Final and they face York City at the start of next month for a place at Wembley.
Bromley return to action tomorrow, Saturday 26 March, when they travel to Wealdstone and Ellery is one of four Brentford players that could be in action for loan clubs this weekend. Ipswich Town, with Dominic Thompson in their ranks, face Plymouth Argyle in a Sky Bet League One match on Saturday. Both teams are chasing a Play-Off spot with Plymouth fourth, and looking good for a top six finish, and Ipswich in ninth.
Elsewhere Brentford’s Ecuadorian winger Joel Valencia could be in action for Agrupación Deportiva Alcorcón at the bottom of the Spanish second tier. They face Real Valladolid CF on Sunday. In Australia, Adelaide United have Brentford B attacker Lachlan Brook in their ranks. They face Central Coast Mariners on Saturday morning.
