Darren England will take charge of his 13th Brentford game this weekend, the joint-most of any team in the English pyramid.

We have won exactly half of the previous 12, with a further three draws and three defeats. Two of those defeats have come in our last two outings under the South Yorkshire official, away at Brighton and Hove Albion on Boxing Day and last month at Manchester City.

Prior to our 2-0 Boxing Day defeat, we'd only lost once in England's ten previous matches in charge. There was a 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers and a 3-3 draw with Sunderland during the 2017/18 season and a 2-0 success over Wigan Athletic in September 2018 before a win, at home to Preston North End, a draw, at home to Hull City, and a loss, away at Luton Town, during the 2019/20 campaign.

Last season's first outing came in the Carabao Cup Third Round against West Bromwich Albion. England awarded three spot kicks in regulation, one for us and two for The Baggies, as we went on to win 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw. He then took charge of April's 1-1 draw at home to Cardiff City which saw The Bluebirds net from the spot.

This season we won our opening two Premier League matches under the 36-year-old, scoing a penalty in each. First was our 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in September, a game that also saw Shandon Baptiste sent off, before November's 1-0 win at home to Everton; Ivan Toney netting from 12 yards in both of those.

So far this season, England's 16 games have seen 62 yellow cards and that one red for Shandon. The Doncaster-born official leads all Premier League officials in penalties per game, having awarded seven in his 11 outings so far, three of which have come in the four games involving Brentford.
