Yoane started the game which Sudan took the lead in after just 16 minutes through Waleed Bakhet Hamid before they made sure the points were safe with a goal four minutes from time through Mohamed Abdelrehman Yousif Yagoub. DR Congo did get on the scoresheet through Jonathan Bolingi but they were unable to get back into the match as Sudan took the points. There wasn’t too much between the two sides as they both had two shots on target and it was Congo who dominated a lot of the ball with 63% of the possession.

Yoane and his side now sit bottom of Group I after their first two matches of qualifying which both ended in defeat. Their next game is in September this year as they face current group leaders Mauritania.

There could be game time for more of our players today as David Raya’s Spain travel to Switzerland whilst Frank Onyeka and Nigeria face Sierra Leone. Julian Jeanvier could also feature as Guinea face Malawi.
