Brentford pair Matthew Cox and Daniel Oyegoke have been named in the England squad for the upcoming 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championships. The players have been training with the squad for the past few days and the tournament group was announced today, Friday 17 June. The first match takes place on Sunday.

The tournament takes place in Slovakia over the next two weeks. England are in Group B, along with Austria, Israel and Serbia. The four teams in Group A are France, Italy, Romania and host nation Slovakia.

England will kick-off their tournament against Austria on Sunday, 19 June. They then face Serbia next Wednesday, 22 June. The final match in the group is against Israel on Saturday 25 June. The top two teams in each group will play Semi-Finals. The final will be on Friday 1 July.

Daniel and Matthew were in the England squad that qualified for the tournament by winning their way through a pair of group stages. Goalkeeper Matthew played in five of the six qualifying matches while defender Daniel appeared in all six, three of them as a substitute. Both have been in the England youth set-up in recent years with Daniel playing 17 games for his country at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-19 level. Matthew has also played for England Under-20 and has nine appearances at youth international level to his credit.
