After a break for international fixtures, the Icelandic football season resumed earlier this week, so Hans Mpongo was back in action. The Brentford B striker is spending time on loan at Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja (ÍBV). They had a game on Wednesday, 15 June.
Hans was a second half substitute in the match, against Víkingur Reykjavík. Víkingur scored two first half goals and ÍBV were unable to find a way back. Hans played the final half hour and a third goal sealed the points for Víkingur.
ÍBV have had a difficult start to the season in the Icelandic top flight, the Besta-deild karla. They have picked up three draws in their first nine games and have lost the other six games to sit bottom of the 12-team league. They face Fram tomorrow, Monday 20 June, in their next league match.
