Brentford Football Club have named Lee Dykes as Technical Director. Lee has been with The Bees for three years, joining from Bury in the summer of 2019 to head up the recruitment department. He will take on his new position immediately, ahead of the start of pre-season training as Brentford prepare for the 2022/23 Premier League season. Lee will continue to oversee Brentford’s recruitment department as part of his role.

Phil Giles, Brentford FC Director of Football, said: “Lee has done a fantastic job for us over the last three seasons, so I’m pleased to be able to confirm him in a new and broader role at the Club. He has a strong work ethic, is well connected across football, is process driven with a good eye for a Player, which are all qualities that he’ll continue to need as Technical Director.

“This role is a meaningful one for the Club, since the last person to hold this position was Rob Rowan. Lee is aware of the significance of the role and I’m sure will do a job which is equally as good as the fantastic work done by Rob during his time here.”

Lee spent a year as Sporting Director at Bury in 2018/19. He held the role for a season in which the Greater Manchester side won promotion from Sky Bet League Two. He had previously been at Carlisle United, where he was Assistant Manager and Head of First Team Recruitment.

Lee has experience working in all four professional divisions in England, starting at Rotherham United as Youth Team Coach in 2007. He has also worked in recruitment and scouting at Crawley Town, Notts County and Oldham Athletic. He spent three years at Carlisle before moving to Bury.
