Lachlan Brook and Australia have been knocked out of the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup. Australia were beaten 2-0 by Saudi Arabia yesterday, Wednesday 15 May, after having a man sent off. Saudi Arabia were victorious in the Semi-Final clash and will now try to clinch the trophy on Sunday.

Saudi Arabia took the lead 20 minutes in and Australia were reduced to ten men just before half-time. Lachlan started the match but was withdrawn just before the hour mark with his team behind. Australia were unable to find a way back in to the game.

Saudi Arabia grabbed a second goal with 18 minutes remaining and there was a crazy end to the contest. Australia missed a penalty nine minutes in to stoppage time that may have given them hope. Saudi Arabia still had time to miss one of their own before the game was brought to a conclusion.

Australia will still have one game left to play. They face Japan in the Third-Place Play-Off. That match will take place on Saturday.
