David Raya’s Spain side netted a late equaliser away from home against Czech Republic to confirm a 2-2 draw on Sunday evening in the Nations League.
David, who was once again named in the Spain squad after an impressive season with The Bees, remained on the bench for the match where the Czechs went in front after just four minutes when Jakub Pesek found the net. The Spaniards ensured they would go into the break level when they scored in first half stoppage time to make it 1-1 through 17-year-old Gavi.
Jan Kuchta restored Czech Republic's lead on 66 minutes but Spain managed to find the net late on as Inigo Martinez headed home to confirm a draw. Spain are next in action on Thursday as they head to Switzerland before they play their final match of this international period on Sunday as they welcome Czech Republic to Spain for the reverse fixture.
Looking to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches, Julian Jeanvier’s Guinea were in action on Sunday against Egypt but they were undone by an 87th minute goal from Mostafa Mohamed in Cairo. Julian wasn’t involved for the side in the 1-0 defeat and Guinea will look to bounce back when they face Malawi on Thursday, who gained a win on Sunday as they beat Ethiopia 2-1 with two goals from Gabadinho Mhango.
