Brentford pair Matthew Cox and Daniel Oyegoke helped England make it two wins from two in their 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championships Finals campaign yesterday. England Under-19 beat Serbia 4-0 last night. Matthew played the full match in goal while Daniel was a late substitute in the win.

Matthew had to make saves in both halves to ensure a clean sheet but England were clinical and deserved their win. Dane Scarlett, of Tottenham Hotspur, scored at the start and end of the first half to give England a 2-0 lead at the interval. Carney Chukwuemeka, of Aston Villa, then made it 3-0 just past the hour mark.

Daniel came on with 15 minutes to go to help England get the win. There was no sitting back as England continued to create chances. Daniel Jebbison, of Sheffield United, got the fourth goal in stoppage time.

England are now clear at the top of Group B with six points from six. They beat Austria 2-0 on Sunday night and face Israel in their third game on Saturday, 25 June. Israel are second with four points and England need a point to ensure they top the group. They have already secured a spot in the last four. The final will be on Friday 1 July.

Daniel and Matthew have been part of the England Under-19 squad throughout the run to the tournament. Goalkeeper Matthew played in five of the six qualifying matches, one of which is pictured above, while defender Daniel appeared in all six, three of them as a substitute. Both have been in the England youth set-up in recent years with Daniel now having 19 games for his country at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-19 level under his belt. Matthew has also played for England Under-20 and has now made 11 appearances at youth international level.
