As part of the celebration of five years of the Premier League schools' programme the contribution of a local teacher has been marked. Launched in 2017 and available to every primary school in England and Wales, Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to support pupils in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. The fifth anniversary has been marked this week, see more here.

To celebrate, clubs have nominated a "Superstar". This is a young person or teacher who has inspired others through their dedication to the programme, enthusiasm and own personal development. Ruby Lane, from Rabbsfarm Primary School in West Drayton, has been nominated by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Over four years delivering the programme within the school, the Trust has worked closely with Ruby to ensure the smooth running of the programme’s many different aspects, including delivery of workshops and Social Action projects. Ruby has been instrumental in promoting the programme and its values in PE. She has also helped identify the right cohort of pupils or colleagues for the Trust to work with.

Outside of the PE curriculum, Ruby has always ensured that as many pupils as possible are given access to extra sporting opportunities by signing up to EVERY tournament the Trust has run. Ruby came into the school during the Covid-19 outbreak despite being allowed to work remotely, to help create and distribute over 100 exercise bags to local children. These went not only in her school but across other schools in West London.

It is due to Ruby’s unselfishness, accommodating and polite manner, that Rabbsfarm has become Brentford's flagship school for the programme. It is why she is Brentford FC’s Premier League Primary Stars Superstar. See more here.

Each "Superstar" will receive a Nike Strike football, thanks to Premier League partner Nike. They will also get a framed, limited-edition five-year anniversary illustration, created by graphic designer and digital illustrator Zem Clarke.
