Brentford Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfield player Yehor Yarmoliuk, subject to international clearance. Yehor has joined from Ukrainian side SC Dnipro-1 for an undisclosed fee and he has signed a three-year contract with a Club option of an additional year.

The 18-year-old has completed a medical and will initially join up with Neil MacFarlane's Brentford B with the aim of pushing on to challenge for a place in the First Team squad.

Yehor came through the ranks with Dnipro and is also recognised internationally having made his debut for Ukraine's Under-21s at the age of just 16. He made his senior debut for Dnipro on 19 June 2020 as he featured against FC Vorskla Poltava, becoming the second youngest player to feature in the top tier of Ukrainian football at 16 years and 140 days. Last season Yehor featured nine times for Dnipro in a campaign where he found the net once against VPK-Agro in the Ukrainian Cup in September 2021. The club's season was curtailed early due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Yehor's most recent action came last month as he featured for Ukraine's Under-19s in European Championship Qualifying matches. The side played three games as they picked up two wins, against Norway and the Netherlands, whilst they drew 1-1 with Serbia. Yehor scored from the spot in the match against the Norwegians and played 81 minutes in the draw with Serbia.

On Yehor's arrival in West London, Director of Football Phil Giles said: "Yehor is a player with very high potential and we're pleased to welcome him to Brentford.

"He's a really advanced midfield player who can also play even higher up. He's somebody who can create, assist, and is technically very good. He will bring a dynamic element to the team, as well as a lot of power.

"He's coming to us from a very difficult time in Ukraine and we are here to support him in every single way, on and off the pitch. We will help him to improve his English over a period of time, but first and foremost we will do everything to make him feel included at the Club and make sure he settles in properly."
