The 19-year-old, who lined up alongside Josh Dasilva in midfield against Harrow, has been captain for the side in recent weeks and he feels he is developing his leadership skills all the time.

He explained: “I class it as an area of my game that I want to continue to improve on and I think I’m good at keeping the team together and trying to ensure that we keep up the hard work every single day.”

On the chance to line-up alongside Dasilva on the night, the youngster admitted he was keen to learn from him.

He explained: “It was a good experience to play alongside a player who has really good experience. It was good to learn from him and see how he gets on the ball and try to take that into my game. It was good to learn from his movement.”

On how the game panned out, Dom felt that the side deserved the win overall but felt they could have been more clinical in front of goal.

“It was a bit of a scrappy game with some long balls that you had to win. We had some really good chances but didn’t take them, thankfully we got the result in the end on penalties.

“We started the game quickly and at that time we needed to kill the game off by taking the chances that we had but it didn’t happen tonight. Credit to Harrow who came out for the second half, they were strong, fast, and pressed us.

“In both cups we’ve done well so far and hopefully we can keep pushing on and go far come the end of the season.”
