Pretti Shetty has been interviewed for a podcast by The Athletic. Preeti joined Brentford as at the start of the season as one of two new Independent Non-Executive Directors. Preeti - and Deji Davies - were appointed in August after Brentford advertised for a new representative to join the Board of Directors. The Club had initially intended to appoint one Director but took the decision to appoint two after a rigorous process and Preeti became the only British South Asian woman in a Premier League Board Room.

The Athletic is a subscription-based sports website that provides coverage in 47 North American cities as well as the United Kingdom. It was originally founded in Chicago, the the United States of America, but now works far more widely. In 2019, The Athletic started covering English football, dedicating reporters to specific clubs as well as hiring writers to work across the game in this country. Brentford have worked with The Athletic on features in the past, and Preeti spoke to them as part of a podcast series.

In The Boardroom is a series presented by Jacqui Oatley hearing from the men and women at every level of the game trying to bring about positive change to their clubs, their fans and the wider football community. Preeti is one of those who took part. Her podcast was published late last year.

Preeti talks about her career working to use the power of sport for good: whether that’s in her work as CEO of data company Upshot or in her new role with Brentford. She also discussed what the process was like to become a director and how the first six months of life in the boardroom is treating her. Listen here.
