Brentford’s Danish youth international defender Luka Racic has made a loan move to HB Køge. Luka, 22, completed the move just before the closure of the Winter Transfer Window. He will spend the rest of the 2021/22 season with the Danish second tier side.

Luka has been with Brentford since the summer of 2018, joining from FC Copenhagen. He spent just over a year as part of the Brentford B group before promotion to the First Team squad. Luka has played nine games for The Bees, six in the Sky Bet Championship, and scored one goal. He also spent the first half of last season on loan at Northampton Town, playing ten times for The Cobblers.

Phil Giles, Brentford FC Director of Football, said: “Luka has not played a lot of football since his loan at Northampton came to an end and this is a great opportunity for him to get time in meaningful matches. He will be able to work with Køge Head Coach Daniel Agger, who was an excellent central defender, and will have a good environment to develop. We wish Luka all the best for the remainder of the season.”

Luka has played 28 games at youth international level for Denmark and now returns to his home country for the next four months. Køge are seventh in the Danish NordicBet Liga, which is currently on winter break. The season will resume at the end of February.
