The journey to Qatar 2022 is over for Ethan Pinnock and Jamaica following last night's 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica.

The Reggae Boyz went into their match in Kingston knowing that nothing less than the three points would keep their slim hopes alive following a four-game winless run in the Third Round of CONCACAF qualifying.

Despite dominating for much of the game, former Arsenal man Joel Campbell delivered the killer blow to Jamaica's chances just after the hour. That goal came a minute after Celso Borges had missed a penalty for the away side.

The cap was Ethan's fifth for Jamaica, all of which have come in the past 12 months. The 28-year-old will now return to West London ahead of this weekend's Emirates FA Cup tie away at Everton.
