Brentford Women's B team exited the Capital Junior Cup last week. The Bees were beaten 2-1 by LFA Dynamos. A first minute goal set a harsh tone for Brentford and they were beaten at the Quarter Final stage.

Brentford were punished for an early mistake as a clearance was intercepted and touched home, putting LFA Dynamos ahead inside a minute. With a strong opening to the game, the opposition were able to dominate the pitch. Strong fluidity on passes made it difficult for The Bees to gain headway. As they played a tight game, it was difficult for The Bees as they were wide and constantly needing to tuck in.

The pressure mounted from the opposition and a shot was saved by the Bees keeper. Other chances for LFA came and went but Brentford responded quite strongly, with brilliant guiding from Ella in the midfield. As the game went on Cheyenne and Casey built up the pressure. However, this did not lead to a goal.

The second half kicked off with intense actions from both sides and in the 50th minute, The Bees scored an equaliser as Kasey picked up a loose ball after a free-kick and struck it into the goal. A great low drive into the bottom left corner was impossible for the keeper to grab

The goal led to a spike in confidence from The Bees. They showed a high level of determination as they pressed on. Threats increased as Kasey took a free kick just past the hour that went slightly wide from the goal.

Great defence followed by a series of shots on target meant The Bees were dominating the game, but in the 89th minute an attempt to run out and catch the ball by the goalkeeper was missed and the opposition managed to slip it into the net, sealing victory.

Head Coach Will Blithing said: “It was a hard defeat to take, conceding so early on then so late in the game. We stepped it up in the second half but it just shows you have to be on it from the first kick of the game and not from half time. I wish LFA all the best in the Semi Final.”
