Brentford FC started a consultation process with local residents and neighbours on a new planning application for the training facilities based at Jersey Road late last year. As part of this, the Club held a series of consultation events in December where plans were put on show. We are revisiting those plans and can confirm an alteration to them.

Whilst our long-term proposals are the same, we will be pursuing permission first for a temporary facility which can serve the Club for up to five years whilst we work on our longer-term plans. As we developed our plans for the new Performance Centre, it became clear that we would need to deliver a temporary set of buildings and facilities for the First Team and B Team to use whilst the permanent centre was built. Construction of a permanent facility will take up to two and a half years and, as such, we will need somewhere for players to train once the site is cleared and construction has begun.

By getting permission for the temporary facilities first, and delivering them this year, we can save ourselves time later and take advantage of breaks in next season’s play to construct the facility whilst players are not needed on site. It also means that players can benefit from better facilities sooner.

In the coming weeks, our team will bring forward detailed plans for a temporary training facility at Jersey Road. These proposals will then, subject to planning permission, be built later this year and serve the Club for up to five years. Our fans, neighbours and the local community will all have a chance to see these proposals and comment on them before we submit them to the London Borough of Hounslow in the spring.

The best place to keep up to date with the plans is at bfcperformancecentre.co.uk/. Further news will also follow on our Club channels. The Club would like to thank everyone who engaged with us at our consultation events just before Christmas. The feedback was invaluable and will be used to help shape the future of our Performance Centre.
