Brentford FC Head Coach Thomas Frank returned a positive test for COVID-19 late last month. Thomas tested positive as he prepared to return to training after the Premier League winter break. Training this week has been taken by other members of the First Team staff with many players also involved in a behind closed doors friendly against Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Thomas will return to work when he has submitted two negative COVID-19 tests, in line with the current regulations. If Thomas does not do this ahead of the Emirates FA Cup tie against Everton on Saturday, 5 February, he will not be at the game. Assistant Head Coach Brian Riemer will take charge on Saturday if Thomas cannot attend.

Thomas has been in constant communication with the coaching staff this week and will speak to the media today ahead of the match at Everton. He will do this from home. A report of Thomas’ press conference will follow in the coming hours.
