Loan Round-Up: Defeat for Lachlan Brook’s Adelaide United on Friday and more potential game time this weekend for our players

Friday saw Lachlan Brook get 80 minutes of game time for Adelaide United but the side were beaten 2-1 at home by Sydney FC.

The away side went ahead before Stefan Mauk equalised for United, but Sydney’s winner then came on 73 minutes through Bobô. Adelaide are now fourth in the table in Australia’s top tier.

In midweek, Aaron Pressley’s AFC Wimbledon were held to a 2-2 draw by Cheltenham Town at Plough Lane. The striker is currently in Portugal with Brentford B as he continues his recovery from injury. The Dons are 20th in the league table and face Charlton Athletic away from home this weekend.

Also in England, Marcus Forss and Charlie Goode could make their debuts after they made Deadline Day loan moves to the Sky Bet Championship. Marcus’s Hull City side face Preston North End and currently sit 18th in the table, however they have been on a good run of results of late having won their last three matches. As for Charlie, he could turn out for Sheffield United as they take on Birmingham City away from home this evening. The Blades are 11th in the Championship and will be aiming to climb higher tonight.

Dom Thompson will be pushing for more game time at Ipswich as they welcome Gillingham to Portman Road. The side currently sit ninth in the league table going into the weekend.

In the National League, Ellery Balcombe will be aiming for minutes with Bromley as they head to Halifax Town on Saturday. They are fourth in a very tight league table as just one point separates themselves from top spot.

In Turkey, Galatasaray return to league action this weekend and will be looking for an improved run of form having not won this calendar year. Halil Dervişoğlu and his teammates sit 15th in the league table and face Alanyaspor away from home on Sunday.

In Spain, Joel Valencia’s AD Alcorcón take on Burgos away from home tonight and the side still sit bottom of the second tier of Spanish football.

As for the Danish clubs, Saturday sees Mads Bidstrup’s FC Nordsjælland take on CKSA Moscow in Spain as part of their preparations for the resumption if their campaign in the coming weeks. Luka Racic’s HB Køge take on Mjällby AIF in a friendly fixture too.
