Conor Chaplin’s goal was the difference between the sides as Ipswich sit ninth in the league table and they’ll now be readying themselves for a match with Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Staying in England, there was 36 minutes of game time for Marcus Forss at Hull City but the side were beaten in the Sky Bet Championship by a single goal as Preston North End claimed the 1-0 win. The side are 19th in the table and travel to Derby County on Tuesday. Elsewhere in the same division, Charlie Goode’s Sheffield United claimed a 2-1 win over Birmingham City. The defender was an unused substitute on the night and will be pushing for minutes when they play West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday evening.

In Sky Bet League One, Aaron Pressley missed AFC Wimbledon’s 3-2 defeat away at Charlton Athletic. The striker is recovering from injury with Brentford B in Portugal and is on his way back to fitness. The Dons are 20th in the league table and face Rotherham United on Tuesday evening.

In the National League, Ellery Balcombe’s Bromley had their match with Halifax Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The side face Southend United away on Tuesday night.

On foreign shores, Halil DerviÅŸoÄŸlu played the final three minutes for Galatasaray as they drew 1-1 away at Alanyaspor. The home side went ahead on 39 minutes but Galatasaray levelled just two minutes later through Muhammed Kerem AktürkoÄŸlu. Next up for them is Kayserispor on Saturday and they go into that match 13th in the league table.

In Spain, Joel Valencia was an unused substitute for AD Alcorcón as they lost 3-1 away at Burgos on Friday. They are bottom of their league table and face Tenerife on Sunday. There was friendly action in Spain for Mads Bidstrup as he started FC Nordsjælland’s match with Lyngby in the Spanish sun as they continue to prepare for their return to league action. Luka Racic also got his first minutes for HB Køge against Mjällby AIF where the side were beaten 3-2 in what was another friendly match.

Lachlan Brook and Adelaide United are next in action on Saturday as the side take on Wellington Phoenix. The side will be looking to bounce back away from home following their defeat to Sydney FC last time out. They are fourth in the league table at the moment.
