How Christian Nørgaard is helping the next generation of players

Midfield player talks to Sky Sports about player identification app

23 February 2022

Brentford midfield player Christian Nørgaard spoke to Sky Sports earlier this month about some of his work away from Premier League action. Christian has been a regular for The Bees this season. He has played in all but one game and scored twice in Brentford's first ever top-flight season.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Christian outlined his involvement with an app that helps identify some of those potential players that have not yet made it to their top level. Tonsser is an app that is helping to provide opportunities for those missed by the system. It was set up in 2014 by two students from Copenhagen with a vision to bring the professional experience to the game's millions of unsigned amateur players. Players capture their games on video, log goals and assists, as well as picking out the three best players from each match.

"I just find Tonsser a very interesting way of helping those people who don't get their first contract when they are 15, "explained Christian. "Especially here in England where there are so many rejected Where do they go?"

In the interview, Christian talks about his involvement in the app. He outlines how he got involved and why he thinks it's important. He also talks about his life at Brentford.

"Both me and Brentford are doing well," he said. "I am really happy where I am both football-wise and privately."
