Brentford FC Women's B Team have reached the Semi-Finals of the Greater London Women's Football League’s new anniversary trophy. In their first match back after a month off, the ladies defeated Camden Town Blues last Sunday. The Blues have been a formidable opponent for all season but Brentford came out on top in the final meeting of the campaign, recording a 2-0 win.

Both teams were eager to make their mark on the game, and the pace was established early on. Each team fought hard to seize the lead and go to the Semi-Finals of the tournament.

In the early minutes of the game, Camden won a free kick in the box, but Sophie Boycott made an outstanding stop to prevent Brentford from conceding early. Kasey Clifford's screamer from a few yards outside the box put Brentford in front after just ten minutes of play. With a 1-0 advantage, The Bees got off to a strong start.

Camden stepped up the pressure and it appeared Brentford had hit a lull in the action. Camden took advantage by launching repeated attacks, but Brentford's defence appeared to be alert and ready to stop them and Ellie Cottrell scored after Eshe Davies won the ball and put it into the box, taking The Bees up to two goals.

Despite a break from the halfway line, Chloe Logie's third goal-scoring effort was saved by the rival goalkeeper. Brentford held on to their lead in the second half despite Camden's attacks and pressure. The Bees will play in the last four this weekend.

Very pleased with the final results, Head Coach Will Blithing said: “The team were very rusty, having gone a month without a game. We could see that from the way we started but we created chances and took them.

"There were multiple points where it seemed we had run out of luck but we got the result. It was a very professional performance in second half especially against a team that's beaten us twice in the league. It is great to qualify for the Semi-Final.”
