Our latest Hollywood Hero

Shaun Preddie got the VIP treatment against West Ham United

25 April 2022

Our Principal Partner Hollywoodbets is proud to highlight and reward the great impact of companies and individuals in our local community with the initiative Hollywood Heroes. So far this season, individuals and companies who worked with our Community Sports Trust have been chosen Hollywood Heroes. Sean Preddie was nominated as our Hollywood Hero for the match against West Ham United earlier this month.

Shaun is recognised today for his fantastic work with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, specifically on the Premier League Kicks programme. Premier League Kicks began during the 2006/07 season in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, with the aim of involving and supporting young people in regular, positive and fun activity, while helping to create stronger, safer, more inclusive communities. Almost £66m has been invested in PL Kicks by the Premier League since its inception.

Over the past 15 years, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s PL Kicks programme has gone from strength to strength, reaching more than 1,000 participants each year. As part of the celebrations, clubs have nominated a PL Kicks ‘Local Legend’ – somebody who has taken part in, volunteered, or worked on the programme and inspired others through their dedication, work ethic and own personal development.

Shaun has been named as the Brentford PL Kicks ‘Local Legend’. Club Ambassador Marcus Gayle was on hand in February to present Shaun with his bespoke football card, which was created with support from Premier League partner Panini.

Shaun has been involved in the Kicks programme for 14 out of the 15 years it’s been running. Through youth clubs, multi-sports sessions, tournaments, fixtures, day trips and volunteering, he has engaged with thousands of young people across more than 30 locations. He has worked tirelessly with the next generation of coaches, players and mentees.

On his nomination, Shaun said: “Working on the Kicks programme has been a great experience - no two days are the same. It has proven invaluable in diverting me away from negative influences and allowing me to give back to my community. This project has supported me to become the person I am today.”

The Club would like to thank Shaun for his fantastic work. He is a true Hollywood Hero!

Hollywood Heroes was launched in conjunction with Principal Partner Hollywoodbets to highlight and reward the positive impact of volunteers and individuals in our local community. Hollywoodbets have provided nominees with boardroom hospitality tickets to say ‘thank you’ for all the hard work they have put in. Housing provider A2Dominion and the Hounslow Community Foodbox have also been recognised this season.
