Brentford's schedule continues with a third consecutive game against local opponents next week. After wins over Chelsea and West Ham United, The Bees will face Watford away from home on Easter Saturday, 16 April. The game will kick-off at 3pm in Hertfordshire as Brentford look to extend their winning run.

The 2-0 win over West Ham yesterday, Sunday 10 April, followed a 4-1 win at Chelsea a week earlier. The Bees have now won four of their last five with recent victories over Norwich City and Burnley to start March. A defeat at Leicester City is the only blip in that run.

The trip to Watford is the third of four games in a row against teams nearby. That run will end with a match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 23 April. The game against Tottenham will be our last derby of the season. If games against Watford are included, Brentford have won five out of ten, drawing two of the other five.

Four recent wins out of five have seen Brentford climb to 13th in the Premier League table. The Bees have played 32 of their 38 games and have taken 36 points. They are above Southampton and below Aston Villa on goal difference, level on points with both. Those three sides are in a group of eight teams separated by seven points with a few weeks of the campaign remaining.

Watford are six places and 14 points worse off than Brentford. They were beaten 3-0 at home by Leeds United on Saturday and sit 19th in the table. The Hertfordshire outfit are a point ahead of Norwich City, who are bottom, and six behind Everton, who are 17th and just outside the relegation zone.

The defeat on Saturday was the third in four matches for Watford, albeit they did win away at Southampton four weeks ago. It was also their ninth consecutive defeat at home. Watford have earned seven points in their last eight matches with a win at Aston Villa and draw at Manchester United accompanying the win at Southampton.

Watford and Brentford came up from the Sky Bet Championship together last season. Watford finished second to clinch automatic promotion while The Bees ended a place behind and won the Play-Offs. This is the fourth competitive meeting in 16 months between the teams.

The first of those meetings was in December 2020 when the teams drew 1-1 in Hertfordshire, both scoring from the penalty spot. Brentford won the return game in May 2-0 with Marcus Forss and Ivan Toney finding the net. Brentford also won the first game between the teams this season, coming from behind to win late on. Pontus Jansson equalized for The Bees before a stoppage time penalty from Bryan Mbeumo clinched victory. The sides also met in a pre-season friendly behind closed doors in August, Brentford winning that 3-1.

Prior to Brentford's win last May, Watford had the upper hand in meetings between the sides. Watford had not lost since the sides met in a Division Four fixture in 1977 and were unbeaten in 17 in a variety of competitions, winning 11 of them. Brentford have taken seven points from the past three matches between the teams.

Tickets for the away end for this match are sold out and it will not be live on UK TV but Brentford fans can listen live on Bees Player. Full information on the service can be seen here. Bees fans living overseas should check this page to see if they can watch the game live.
