Match Preview: Hendon v Brentford B

Young Bees set for London Senior Cup Final

25 April 2022

Brentford B will face Hendon FC in the Final of the London FA Senior Cup on Tuesday evening at Champion Hill in a 7:45pm kick-off.

The side will look to lift their first piece of silverware this season having narrowly missed out earlier this month in the Final of the Middlesex Senior Cup on penalties.

The young Bees have just returned from a short tour in Spain and they’ll be aiming for victory over the Southern League Premier Division South side.

Route to the Final

Fisher FC 0 Brentford B 2

Under the lights of Canary Wharf, an October evening saw the side confirm progression from the First Round with goals from Dom Jefferies and Tristan Crama.

Harrow Borough 1 Brentford B 1 (Brentford win 5-4 on pens)

Josh Dasilva made his injury comeback at the Peter Rogers Family Stadium as he played the first 45 minutes of the match which ended 1-1. Jude Russell netted for The Bees before James Ewington levelled later in the game. It went to spot kicks and Nathan Young-Coombes netted the decisive one as Neil MacFarlane's side claimed the win.

Dartford 0 Brentford B 2

A trip to Dartford saw the side impress on the road against the National League South side to progress to the Semi-Finals of the competition with goals from Ryan Trevitt and Nathan Young-Coombes. Trevitt netted with an excellent solo effort before the forward's penalty kick confirmed the win against a side who were unbeaten at home that season.

Barking 0 Brentford B 4

The Bees were once again on the road to the east of the capital as they met Barking in what was yet another excellent display. Alex Gilbert, Tristan Crama and Hans Mpongo netted the goals with the help of a Barking own goal to confirm the scoreline.

About Hendon

Hendon compete in the Southern League Premier Division South and they are currently 16th in the league table having collected 47 points from 42 games. They go into the match following a 6-0 win over Merthyr Town at home at the weekend. That win saw them bounce back from three successive defeats against the likes of Kings Langley, Farnborough and Dorchester.

Last Time We Met

Neil MacFarlane's team actually met Hendon in the Final of this competition in September 2020 as the competition was carried over from the 2019/20 season. The match was goalless and went to extra-time when Shaun Lucien found the net to give Hendon the win. The sides then met in October 2020 as part of the 2020/21 tournament and it was a much improved result for The Bees as they ran out 6-2 winners away from home in the Second Round.

Joe Adams netted inside five minutes before Valgeir Valgeirsson, Alex Gilbert, Aaron Pressley and Lewis Gordon also found the net.
